Limited Edition Super-Linear II Captain Bligh Built for: Costantino Cartage Australian Bicentennial Year 1988
2 min read

Ernie Hastas, based in the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, was inspired to build a scale replica of Paul Costantino’s Limited Edition Mack Super-Liner Bicentennial 1988. After noticing the truck on an overpass on the Hume Highway in Craigieburn in September 1988, he then embarked on a mission to build it.

‘Captain Bligh’ was just one of sixteen ‘Bicentennials’ built to commemorate Australia’s Bicentennial year. They were built by Mack Trucks, and acknowledged 25 years of Mack Truck production in Australia. The 16 trucks were named after famous explorers and bushrangers. Costantino Cartage purchased Captain Bligh, which was one of three ordered.

Captain Bligh and its Freighter pantech trailer was renowned for its trips
