A Tale of Six Trucks the GMC Story

On page 18 of Vintage Trucks and Commercials Magazine, dated March-April, 2013, under the heading ‘Mystery Trucks’, there is a photo of a GMC semi tanker, painted in Brambles’ colours.

This is the story of that truck, and another five GMC’s, brought into Australia by Ross Rawolle of Werribee, and Cyril Weygood of Yarrawonga, in Victoria.

Ross was the Rootes group dealer in Werribee, operating as Kentucky Autos, selling new and used trucks, and Rootes group cars. Cyril had a livestock-carrying business based in Yarrawonga, and had a fleet of Commer stock transports. Cyril would purchase his Commer trucks from Ross.
