Built Like a Mac Truck

In recent times, I have been posting photos on various Facebook sites outlining our story of purchasing a disused Mack log truck and restoring it to working order. Here in this article, I would like to tell the story in a little more detail.

Back in the late 1990s, on successive family holidays to the NSW South Coast, my sons Andy and David, had spotted a Mack F700 jinker sitting in a yard at Tomerong, looking like it had not moved for a number of years. I thought it might have potential as a float truck for my earthmoving business. So in July 2001, after Dave had returned to his apprenticeship at Hartwigs, in Wagga, Andy and I called in to see if it might be for sale.
