I read with interest in VTCM No.49 the story about the International Harvester Transtar. The Main Roads Dept. in Moora, Western Australia, operated a 6x4 CO4070 slimline on low-loader duty from around 1973 to 1980-82 or so. To an impressionable young boy in a small rural community populated by Bedfords and Acco’s, it created quite an impact. The small production numbers back up why these were a particularly unusual site in this neck of the woods.
