At the Ordinary Meeting of Council on August 15th, 2011, Mayor, Cr. Michael Banasik submitted a Notice of Motion that Council write to the Federal and State Governments and to the Transport Union requesting support for appropriate funding for the historic Truck Blockade area on Razorback, in order to recognise the historical significance of this site. 

In 1979, 2,000 truck drivers staged blockades of major highways at nearly 4
