I am thoroughly enjoying your historical view of trucking in Australia. My father (T.R. Croke & Sons Transport) ran 1418’s in the 1960s and 1970s, and I have great memories of the Hume Highway, and all that went with it. He later ran a Flintstone Mack for Aztec, along with my uncle’s 359 Peterbilt at Barry Petroleum in Canberra.
