Federal motor trucks were born in 1910 in Detroit, Michigan, and very soon they were highly regarded for their inherent strength and reliability.
This reputation was further cemented during World War One, and again during World War Two. Federals were neither a custom-built or mass-produced truck; it was always in between, thereby offering truck operators a cost effective alternative where volume production offered purchasing benefits while offering a range of options which would allow for ‘fine tuning’ of the truck to the end user’s needs.
